MODERN ETERNITY SIZE CHART
" What size should I buy ? "
Designed and conceived in Canada, we have fitted using the medium specifications for North American women which is the same standard of off the rack sizes of major brands and dept stores.
Generally, the 3 in 1 maternity coats and jackets as well as maternity jeans should be bought in your pre pregnancy size. Many women will make the mistake of buying maternity clothes sizes that are too large, or buying men’s clothes or plus-size clothing.
Avoid this because you’ll end up with maternity clothes that are too loose and baggy and don’t have “give” in the right places. Our patented 3 in 1 maternity panel will accommodate even the most generous baby weight gain in the belly area. However, all women’s body types are different, especially when it comes to pregnancy weight gain in other areas of the body. Please consider this upon choosing the right size for you during your pregnancy.
Please note the measurements below are body measurements, not garment measurements.
“But my bust size is growing ! “
At the 2nd Trimester, or approximately 4-5 months into a pregnancy is when the bump really starts to grow and the need for maternity clothes becomes evident. The maternity panel will accommodate your BUMP, no matter what size , we assure you !
Every woman’s body will change differently during pregnancy and this includes her bust size. The Modern Eternity maternity panel will also add approx. 4 inches to the bust measurement to accommodate this change. Of course, you will be losing this weight post natal and the Modern Eternity 3 in 1 maternity coat will accommodate you by removal of the maternity panel to wear as “baby out” with any baby carrier, and “baby free” as a regular coat

Designed and conceived in Canada, we have fitted using the medium specifications for North American women which is the same standard of off the rack sizes of major brands and dept stores. “What temperature are these coats and jackets rated for?”
Depends: wind, humidity, activity level, what else you’re wearing, and body type can all affect this. Your choice should look at (1) type of filling down vs synthetic, and (2) design.
Please ask yourself the following question,
Are you often outdoors in a cold city urban center shopping sidewalk sales and cafe lattes each weekend ? Perhaps you want something warmer with a “Down” filled 3 in 1 Maternity Parkas, it is our heaviest and warmest maternity coat and would be comfortable until -30 Celsius ratings. The 3 in 1 “Polyfill” maternity coats are also quite warm with -15 celsius temprature.
Are you racing between Costco, daycare, and yoga class in the suburbs ? Often in your vehicle and carrying shopping bags, perhaps less insulation and less heavy characteristics are more important to you. The 3 in 1 “PolyFill” maternity coats are also the voted favorite of our suburban Moms. However for even more comfort, the extra lightweight and breathable “Down” maternity jackets are extremely versatile, comfortable, and very practical.
Do you live by coastal mild ocean breezes and/or a spring/fall fashionista ? The lightweight weight maternity collections are the most popular among these clients. Our “waterproof” maternity raincoats are very unique to maternity fashion.
“ Down vs Synthetic “
Down: To begin, down is completely natural. We can find it underneath duck and goose wings. It’s one of the best insulator that you can find on the market: no man-made insulation can match down’s superior and natural weight to warmth ratio. Its ability to expand and compress is probably one of its best features, making it very light and easy to carry as well as very very breathable. The cost is noticeably higher than synthetic – however, if treated with care, a good down jacket can last a lifetime, a great investment for a maternity jacket. On the negative side: once it’s wet, it loses this capacity. For rainy and humid conditions, it might not be the most reliable option.
Synthetic / polyfill: In a way, synthetic is like the man-made imitation of down insulation. Even if its capacities aren’t as efficient as down insulation, it still has very interesting features. The most important is that it is less expensive. It also would be that it will keep you warm even if it’s wet or humid. The simple explanation: the moisture gets trapped between the fibers, rather than in them, making it much easier to dry. On a more negative note, synthetic material is heavier than down, and you will not be able to compress it as much. It’ll be more puffy and less of a slim look and feel.
“ Are the Outerwear products water-resistant or waterproof? ”
All our Maternity coats and Maternity jackets are treated with a water resistant coating applied to the exterior of the shell fabric and provide some protection to water penetration. The coating accomplishes this by causing water to bead up and roll off the garment’s exterior preventing water saturation, however this will not protect against prolonged or heavy rainfall. Longer term, the applied water resistance coatings applied to our garments may wear off due to abrasion, grime and laundering, however an off-the-shelf spray on treatment may be reapplied to retain optimal performance. Washing the garment with harsh detergents usually accelerates water resistance loss, in addition, soaps often leave a residue which attracts water and dirt.
Some of our styles are clearly more shiny, and these may posses a Waxed cotton and/or Polyurethane coating or laminate which will resist water and keep you dry in rain showers, if anything only a small amount of water may get through. Technically we can not define it as 100% fully waterproof although is still often chosen for its water resistant capability and desirable aesthetics.
“Technically Waterproof or Water Repellent”
A fabric may be called two different things. Waterproof or water repellent. Waterproof means that no water can pass through the fabric, or if we’re talking about a constructed garment, then no water should be able to pass from the outside to the inside of the garment. For an item of clothing to be waterproof, it’s usually made from a fabric with some sort of coating such as polyurethane or silicone, or it may be a laminated material. For clothing to be waterproof, seams also must be taped to prevent water from being able to go through the holes in the stitching.
On the other hand, water repellent fabrics will repel the penetration of moisture, meaning they are water resistant but only to a degree. Water easily runs off the fabric surface, yet some water would pass through the fabric under prolonged rainfall or when more pressure is applied such as pressing on the fabric, sitting or kneeling or as already mentioned, water can go through the stitching areas.
I am a dog groomer and bought these to use for work. The material is thin which is what I wanted because it gets hot and sweaty during the summer, and the last thing you want while pregnant is clothes that make it worse. They are kind of shiny and did repel hair well! They are so comfy I still wore them after I had my baby. Although they did stretch out and now they are too big. I passed them onto my cousin who is expecting her first!
Fits really well, but is much too short. I'm 5'6 and these fit almost like Capri length. 3 inches above my ankle. I'm undecided if I want to keep them because they really are comfortable and I think working out in them should work just fine. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and the belly fit is perfect and seems stretchy enough for continued growth. But it's winter... I need them to be longer. I'll just have to keep looking.
If you're short, they should be perfect for you!
Totally love it. If not for them, I'm not sure what I would be wearing.
I bought two more.
I am typically a medium. The size 8 leggings from lululemon fit me well. These are a size big, and they fit me wonderfully. I'm 20 weeks along.
The level of quality is quite similar to lulus! Very cozy, buttery soft, and attractive.
Just got this product and I like the materials, fits good on me. Thank you so much!
These leggings are so incredibly soft and comfortable and they are NOT see through AT ALL! .Pre-pregnancy I would usually buy large or medium leggings depending on the brand, but bought these in an XL because I wasn’t sure how they’d fit... been my experience that the legs in maternity leggings are awkwardly narrow and not as stretchy and I have large thighs, wide hips, and a massive butt LOL. I definitely could have gotten a large (maybe even a medium) and still be comfortable in them. They cover my whole bump (for reference I’m 7 months pregnant), which is really nice and I still have LOTS room to grow without them sagging or coming down when I move. You can easily wear them running errands or even to work. I would suggest these to any and every pregnant woman I know!!
I had ordered a few other types of leggings to try and they were scratchy and thin. These are thick. The fabric is extremely comfortable. I thought the pockets would look bulky but you don’t even notice they are there. The mesh and stitching give them a nice athletic and streamlined look. Because they are polyester they breathe well and stay comfy for long periods of wear. My only complaint is that they don’t come in an XS. I am petite, 5’2” with a 28” inseam so the length is perfect but they are a bit baggy in the upper thigh/crotch area. Granted I am 105lbs pre-pregnancy and 111lbs now at 20 weeks. Perhaps once I’m in my third trimester they will fit perfectly.
Overall they have been the best I’ve tried to far and good deal for the price
I’m 5’4 and pre pregnancy weight was 155 lbs. At 20 weeks I’m now 172 lbs. I ordered a large because I have curvy hips, a booty and even thicker thighs now. I really like the fit around my bump, it’s fitted without being too tight so it feels supportive. The pockets could be more to the side instead of toward the front of the leg, that’s how these fit me at least. And the bottom is a little loose but I think if you have longer legs it would fit shorter on you and might not be loose. Also the seam at the crotch is a little uncomfortable (maybe because I wear my leggings without undies) when walking/jogging. I could try them with undies and see if that helps... but in case you also wear yours without thought I’d mention it. I do prefer leggings with the criss cross back over the full back though, prob because of my shorter torso.
OK! I needed to write this review because I spend so much time reading reviews before buying and I want to help others. I ordered size M and it fits so well, I have been using it for now several months starting pregnancy and it works very well for me. Nice colors. Recommended.
I usually love wearing leggings around the house but i noticed that my belly has been stretching them out lately so i decided to get a pair of these, so far ive been super comfortable and theyre also super breathable and great for long exercise routines
I LOVE going to the gym but its been getting alot harder now that I’m a little over four months pregnant so I got a pair of these leggings. The highrise belly makes them alot more flattering then the ones I was using before, and I’m feeling a lot more confident
My mother bought me a pair of these leggings as a present because she knows how much I like to wear leggings, and I just had to come and leave a review. I’ve been wearing these leggings almost everyday now and I even bought a second pair in blue!
